TOP FASHION DESIGNER ALEXANDER MCQUEEN DIES AGED 40

The fashion world was rocked today at the sad news of Alexander McQueen’s suicide.

The influential UK fashion designer, whose real name was Lee, was found dead at his Mayfair apartment in central London at around 10am this morning (UK time). The police are not treating his death as suspicious.

His death comes just one week after the death of his mother, Joyce, which is said to have had a devastating effect on him. It’s also thought he never quite recovered from the death of his friend and mentor Isabella Blow, who committed suicide by overdosing on weed killer 3 years ago.

Close friends Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and fellow designer Matthew Williamson are said to be devastated.
